Process Studio

A complete business process suite on the platform: BPMN models, decision tables and forms, drafted from a description, run by a real process engine, and worked from the same cartable as everything else.

The eight studios About Process Studio

What it is for

Drafted from a description
Say how the work goes. The studio proposes the BPMN diagram and its forms; you correct it in a full modeler.
A real engine underneath
Processes run on Flowable - BPMN, CMMN and DMN in one engine. It is never exposed: the platform is its only client, so access and audit stay in one place.
Steps that reach the whole platform
A step can be a task for a person or a group, a row written to a list, a document generated from a template, a decision table, an agent's work, a flow, an app screen.
Tasks land in the cartable
Whoever a step is for finds it among their other work, with its form. No second inbox.
Started from anywhere
By a button with a start form, from a list row or an app, by a schedule, by an event on the platform - or by asking the assistant.
See where it is
Every instance has a timeline with its variables and tasks; reports show cycle time and where work waits.

Getting started

  1. Open Process Studio and describe the process, or pick a template: leave request, purchase approval, onboarding, incident.
  2. Check the diagram and the forms; say who each task is for.
  3. Try it with test data, then publish.

Tasks

Add a decision table

  1. Add a rule step to the process.
  2. Write its table: conditions on the left, the outcome on the right.
  3. The branch after it follows the outcome.

Follow one instance

  1. Open Instances.
  2. Choose the instance.
  3. Its timeline shows each step, who did it, and what is waiting now.

Let an agent do a step

  1. Add an agent step.
  2. Choose the agent and say what it should return.
  3. Its answer becomes variables of the process.

Questions

Do we need to know BPMN?

No. Describe the work and read the picture. The modeler is there for people who want it.

What happens when a process changes?

A published process is a version. Running instances finish on the version they started on.
